So it’s Halloween… Day of. And you all of a sudden need some holiday ideas. It happens – maybe the significant other just reminded you about a party tonight… or a sibling called and asked you to come over & “would you bring something to snack on”… or perhaps the holiday spirit *just* hit you & you want to be festive.
All perfectly understandable. So here’s a couple ideas…
Costume – EASY. We’re witch-y, right? So just swing by the drug store (or Walmart), score a length of orange or halloween-themed ribbon, and a bottle of Orange (or Black) nail polish. Get home, paint your nails, grab your spectacular LBD (yeah, that one… the one that makes your partner drool), tie the ribbon around the waist, pair w/ some killer pumps & add a witch-hat (if you’ve got one, don’t we all?)… or just pin a fabulous up-do. DONE. Now you’re bringing the hotness to your event.
Disclaimer: When testing out polish for this post, I added the new ‘crackle’ polish in black over the orange. It was interesting, for sure, but I wasn’t a huge fan. But if you want to get a little wild with it, you should definitely pick some up! Let the bottom color dry *completely* before you add the crackle. Very important.
Bring Something – also EASY. Try some “Monster Munch”… It’s very likely this will be happening at my house tonight or tomorrow. I’m a sucker for easy & chocolate – put the two together & it’s a win-win!
“Stolen” from Plain Chicken, this couldn’t be any simpler:
1 package Almond Bark (1 lb)
2 bags of microwave popcorn, popped (approximately 16-20 C popped popcorn)
1 C candy corn
1 1/2 C dry roasted, salted peanuts
1 C Reeces Pieces
Pop popcorn and place in a large bowl. The largest you have. Pour peanuts, candy corn, and reeces pieces on top.
Break up almond bark. Melt according to package directions. Pour over popcorn mixture. Stir until everything is well coated and then spread out onto waxed paper, parchment, or foil. Let sit until completely dry and then break up into clumps.
So there you go… a couple fast & simple last-minute ideas. Have a fa-BOO-lous Halloween! 😀
